TOKYO EPIC Inc. (Headquartered in Minato, Tokyo; CEO: Ryoichi Wada), a next-generation anime IP production company, announced in July 2025 that it has raised approximately ¥90 million (~USD 580,000) in a seed funding round. The round was led by East Ventures, with participation from Incubate Fund, Z Venture Capital, and Paradigm Shift Group. This brings the company’s total funding to approximately ¥120 million (~USD 780,000).
With the mission of “making storytelling more free,” TOKYO EPIC has built a high-speed anime production pipeline leveraging AI technologies. The company creates and produces original intellectual properties (IPs), including its flagship short-format anime series “PocketANIME,” aimed at capturing global audiences.
“PocketANIME” has gained significant traction among smartphone users as a next-generation anime platform that delivers highly engaging, short-form stories anytime, anywhere. Within six months of its release, the series has surpassed 100,000 followers across social media platforms, building a growing fanbase both in Japan and overseas.
The newly raised funds will be used to strengthen original IP development, enhance AI content generation tools, and expand global marketing efforts. TOKYO EPIC also plans to extend its business beyond anime production to include character merchandise, collaboration projects, and game adaptations—building a comprehensive IP business ecosystem.
