Stage : Series D

Total Raise Amount : ¥17,970 Million

LegalOn Technologies, the developer of the AI-powered contract review platform “LegalForce,” announced on June 23 that it has raised approximately ¥13.7 billion (about USD 91 million) in its Series D funding round. With this latest round, the company’s total equity financing now amounts to approximately ¥17.9 billion (about USD 120 million). Key investors in this round include SoftBank, Goldman Sachs, Mitsubishi UFJ Capital, and Mizuho Capital.

LegalOn, a startup behind the AI legal platform of the same name, is on a mission to eliminate inefficiencies in cross-border legal operations. Positioned as a “World-Leading Legal AI”, LegalOn aims to transform every hour spent on legal work into time for deeper thinking, decisive action, and driving results.

The platform offers robust features to support contract review, legal consultation, and workflow automation. One of its highlights is LegalOn Assistant, an AI-powered chatbot that can answer user queries about contracts uploaded to the platform, based on custom instructions and questions. In addition, it includes a wealth of lawyer-reviewed content and external legal resources, creating a seamless solution that integrates directly into daily legal workflows and grows smarter with every use.

In July 2025, LegalOn entered into a strategic partnership with Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, one of Japan’s leading law firms. Beyond capital investment, the partnership will focus on leveraging LegalOn’s AI capabilities within the firm, integrating Mori Hamada’s extensive legal knowledge into the platform, and co-developing innovative legal solutions. Together, the two organizations aim to deliver higher-quality services to clients and advance the transformation of corporate legal practice.
