DFree has developed and commercialized the world’s first urination prediction device, “DFree.”

DFree is an IoT wearable device that uses an ultrasound sensor to monitor changes in the bladder and predict the timing of urination. By detecting bladder changes via ultrasound and notifying caregivers through smart devices, it helps reduce their workload significantly. The company launched services for care facilities in Japan in 2017, expanded to individual users in Japan and to the U.S. and Europe in 2018, and began offering services for medical institutions in 2019. These efforts have led to tangible results, including improved self-urination, reduced incontinence, and reduced workload (improved productivity) in caregiving settings.

The company offers both corporate and consumer product lines, which are widely used in nursing homes, home care settings, and as toilet training support tools. DFree is also actively expanding overseas, with operations in the U.S. and Europe.

In July 2025, DFree raised approximately 840 million yen through FUNDINNO PLUS+, utilizing the designated investor stock system (J-Ships). The funds will be used to obtain medical device certifications and accelerate global expansion as the company moves into its next stage of growth.
