7/19/2025_It’s election day!

Did you know? July 20 is the voting day for Japan’s House of Councillors election. One party attracting attention this time is the Sansei Party. It’s a right-wing conservative party that seeks to divide the nation and place the blame on foreigners. Their image color is orange, and incidents involving the party have been reported across the country. The party leader, Mr. Kamiya, is known for his ultra-extremist views, including anti-vaccine and anti-science stances.
On the other hand, new and younger political movements are emerging to stand up against such forces. One of them is Team Mirai (Team Future), a party with an average age of just 35. Its leader, Mr. Yasuno, is an AI engineer who envisions using technology to fix flaws in the political system itself.
These two parties couldn’t be more different, and this election will be a crucial moment for Japan’s future.
As for me? I’m, of course, supporting the liberal Team Mirai.
